Mary H. Tharp (Nee Witt), age 61, of Hobart passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2010. Mary had been a Hobart resident of many years, formerly of Aetna. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church and the St. Francis Xavier Ladies Sodality. Mary was the former co-owner and operator of Fashion Beauty Studio in Hobart. Mary is survived by her son Albert (Tanya) Tharp of Hobart, IN; 2 Step-sons Ralph (Laura) Tharp of Kouts, IN and Ronald Tharp; 2 Brothers Joseph (Shirley) Witt of Centenial, WY and Ronald Witt of Palm City, FL.; 2 Sisters Betty (David) Mayer of Hobart, IN and Frieda (Thomas) Zytko of Las Vegas, NV; 6 Grandchildren Ashlyn Reynolds, Kristin, Emma, Audrey, Kyle and Zachary Tharp. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Honora Witt and husband Ralph.
Memorial contributions are preferred to St. Francis Xavier Church or VNA Hospice. A Funeral Service for Mary will be on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church with Rev. Eduardo Malagon officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. A visitation will be held Friday, September 17, 2010 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church.
