Mary Estelle Zorek

MARY ESTELLE ZOREK, age 78, of Kouts, formerly a longtime resident of
Hobart, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025, while surrounded by her
loving family. She was born on June 25, 1947 in Christopher, Illinois. Mary
worked as a waitress for many years, most recently at Bright Spot. She loved
to cook for her family and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother,
grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, John L. Zorek, Sr.; children, John
L (Jennifer) Zorek, Christina (Mike) Cowen, and Mary Jo Maceri; grandchildren,
Chloe and Matthew; brothers-in-law, Larry Higgins and Jim
Kohler; sister-in-law, Brenda Maceri; numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her father, Jack Salvetti; mother, Lillian
(Alfred) Downing; son, Troy D. "Dinky" Bell; brothers, Joseph and Leroy
Maceri; sisters, Patricia Higgins and Carolyn Kohler.
Cremation entrusted to Rees Funeral Homes, Hobart Chapel.
