MaryAnn Popp, age 89, of Hobart, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017. She was born in Hobart, Indiana on February 5, 1928 to the late John and Anna (nee Dujmovich) Cicillian. MaryAnn graduated from Hobart High School, class of 1946. She went on to graduate from St. Joseph Hospital in South Bend in 1949, where she later became a member of the Alumni Group. She was a co-owner of Hobart Lanes for 30 years and also worked as a Registered Nurse for 9 years at Mercy Hospital. MaryAnn was a devout Catholic and a Third Order Secular Franciscan. She was a member of St. Bridget Church and a past member of Sodality at Our Lady of Sorrows.

MaryAnn is survived by sons, Brian (Tina) Popp of Valparaiso, Bruce Popp of Hobart; brother, John Cicillian of Ohio; sister, Jo Anne (John) Daras of Demotte; and other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Clarence J. Popp; brother, Edward (Carolyn) Cicillian; and her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in MaryAnn's honor, to the Little Portion of St. Francis Fraternity, 356 W. 700 N. Valparaiso, IN 46385 or the Challenger Learning Center of NWI, 2300 173rd, Hammond, IN 46323.

A Mass of Christian Burial for MaryAnn will be held Monday, July 24, 2017 at 10:30 am at St. Bridget Church, 568 E. 2nd Street, Hobart, Indiana 46342 with Rev. Benjamin Ross officiating. Visitation will take place just prior to mass at St. Bridget's beginning at 9:00 am. She will be laid to rest at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. For more information, please call 219-942-2109.
