Matthew "Sobel" James Sobel,

Age 41, a Valparaiso resident, passed away October 21, 2024. Matt inspired those around him with his passion for fishing, tireless dedication as a Local 597 pipefitter, and unwavering loyalty to the Bears, leaving an enduring legacy through his remarkable spirit and commitment to excellence, evident in his high school football and baseball letterman achievements.

He is survived by his loving mother, Jodi Stoddard; stepfather, John Stoddard; brothers, Johnathon Sobel and Andrew Vincent; sisters, Faith (Steve) Petri and Kelly (Samantha) Vincent; nephews, Hunter and Gavin Petri; niece, Echoe Lee and numerous cousin and other loving family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father James Vincent.
