Melissa Sue Haslett, age 49, formerly of Lake Station, Indiana passed away Saturday December 3, 2022. She was born on July 1, 1973, to Malcholm (Marsha) Reder in Hammond, Indiana. Melissa was a long-time resident of Hobart, Indiana. She loved hanging out with her family and playing board games with her daughter. She also loved spending time with her great-nephews. She enjoyed listening to music, working crossword puzzles, and going shopping. She always had a smile on her face when she saw her daughter and great-nephews each morning. She had a good, loving, and caring heart. Whenever there was a need she was helpful.

She is survived by her two adult children, Jeffery Haslett of Valparaiso, and Jazzilyn Damron of Lake Station; a sister, Kimberly Reder of Hobart; two nieces, Violet Aguilar and Deanna Sanchez; two nephews, Lawrence Sanchez, and Clayton Aguilar; great-nephews, James and Isaac Driskill; and many other friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her mother Marsha Reder in 2017; her sister Della Buchanan in 2020; and then her father Malcholm Reder later in 2020.
