Union Mills, Indiana
Age 58, passed away September 1, 2013 at Porter Regional in Valparaiso. Melodie was born on March 13, 1955 in Gary, Indiana to Earl Webster and Imogene (nee McClard) Joy. She was a member of Union Baptist and First Spiritual Church in Michigan City, she was a retired toll attendant for the State of Indiana and was a spiritual Reverend. She enjoyed spending her time quilting and was a member of Quilting and Stitching Ladies Auxiliary. Melodie will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She is survived by her parents, daughter; Karmel (Anthony)Cook- Vela of Phoenix, Arizona, four grandchildren; Noah Aron, Dylan Cook, Karson Cook and Leeanna Vela , many other loving family members and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday, September 9, 2013 at 11 am at Rees Funeral home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, IN 46368 . Burial will follow in Calumet Park in Merrillville. Visitation will be Sunday, September 8, 2013, from 2-8 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
