Michael R. Brownfield, age 50, of Gary, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 11, 2019. He was born on June 20, 1968 in Hammond, Indiana to the late Troy and Martha Brownfield.  Michael loved his job working as a wrecker operator for Brownfield's Towing. In his free-time, he enjoyed fishing, camping and being on the lake. Above all, Michael loved spending time with his family.  His vibrant personality will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his daughter, Alise (Jordan) Moslander; loving and dear friend, Denise Richardson; grandchildren, Brody and Gracie Moslander; brothers, William Paul (Cecilia) Brownfield, Troy E. (Sheila) Brownfield, Mark (Lori) Brownfield; nieces and nephews, Veronica (Glen) Newman, Paul John (Jamie) Brownfield, Mary (Shane) Quale, Danny Brownfield, Claudia (Brian) Bader, Donnie Brownfield, Amanda Brownfield, Abby Brownfield; and many loving great nieces, great nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Martha Brownfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with the cost of funeral services.

A funeral service for Michael will take place Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Sonny Ibarra officiating.
