MICHAEL P. BRYAN, age 52, of LaPorte and formerly of Portage, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014. Michael was born on February 20, 1962 in Gary, Indiana to the late John and Frances Bryan. He had graduated from culinary school and worked as a chef throughout his life, specializing in pastries. Currently he enjoyed cooking for the residents of The Arbors in Michigan City. Michael especially loved antiquing with his daughters. He will be deeply missed.

Michael is survived by 3 children, Cassandra (Robert) Schmitt, Valerie Pennington, and Stephanie Bryan; grandson, RJ; 4 brothers and sisters, Mark (Nancy) Bryan, Michele Bryan, Mary (Ray) Kindler, and Marty Bryan; nieces, nephews and a great niece; Jules, his favorite puppy.

He was also preceded in death by his son, Stephen Bryan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Michael's family would be appreciated.

A visitation for Michael will be Friday, September 12, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart.
