Michael Allan Deering, age 60, of Hobart, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2020. He was born on June 8, 1960 in Gary, Indiana to Walter and Donna Deering. He was employed as a groundskeeper for the Travel Inn. On September 12, 2008, he married Tina (nee Moseley) Deering in Valparaiso, IN. He enjoyed playing cards, landscaping and fishing. His favorite past time was cooking.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Tina Deering; mother, Donna Deering; his daughters, Cindy (Michael) Wright, Lynita (Kevin) Brown; step children, Steven (Renee) Gasaway, Timothy (Vicky) Gasaway, Ron Gasaway, Marina Scott; 7 grandchildren; 14 step grandchildren; brothers, Ricky Deering, Chuck (Linda) Deering, Scott (Nora) Deering, Glenn (Sherry) Deering, Roger (Michaeline) Deering; sisters, Valerie (Jose) Rodriguez, Christine (Bill) Bundy, Cindy (Dave) Roach; brother-in-law, Kenny Caravana; and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Henry Deering; and his sister, Deborah Caravana.

A memorial service for Mike will take place Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Face masks and social distancing will be required for attendance.
