Michael A. Franz, age 63, of Portage, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015. He was born on June 20, 1951 to the late Ambrose and Mary Franz. Mike worked as a Millwright for Arcelor Mittal Steel and retired in 2014.

Mike is survived by his wife, Roberta Franz; sons, Dustin Franz, Daniel Franz; daughter, Heather (Michael) Shannon; grandchildren, Steve Huckabee, Sadie Shannon, Hailee Shannon; 1 great granddaughter; sisters, Sharon (James) Bellamy, Verna Spencer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ambrose and Mary Franz; sister, Beatrice Selby.

A funeral service for Mike will take place Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, IN 46368. Cremation will follow services.
