Michael Constantine Grabowski
December 2, 1948-November 9, 2015

Born in Austria to Richard J. and Hilda Huber Grabowski. Immigrated to U.S.A. with parents and younger brother, George, in 1952. They lived briefly in Gettysburg, OH before settling in South St. Paul, MN. While in MN, four siblings were born. Father became a Romanian Orthodox Priest and took a parish in Gary, IN in 1963. While in Indiana, Michael's youngest sibling was born. Mike graduated from Merrillville H.S. in 1966, attended Purdue University Calumet and graduated from Purdue University Lafayette. He worked as a chemical engineer in Toledo, OH and later in Michigan. He spent a year in Russia helping build a Ford truck plant. After returning from Russia, he bought and operated a hobby store in California. After some time, he returned to Indiana and taught chemistry at Andrean H.S. After retirement, he settled in Hobart, IN, and met the love of his life, Janet Creek in 2002.

Mike is survived by his wife, Janet, and his six siblings: George (Anna) of Ten Mile, TN, John (Eans) of Agoura Hills, CA, Richard of Jackson, MI, Corina (Dan) Phillips of Medina, OH, Paul (Laura) of Canyon Country, CA and Steve of Fairlawn, OH. He is also survived by six nephews, a niece and many dear friends.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents: The Very Reverend Richard and Hilda Grabowski.

A funeral service for Michael will take place Saturday, November 14 , 2015 at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Fr. Michael McCombs officiating. He will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Visitation will be held Friday, November 13, 2015 from 2:00-5:00 & 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home.
