Michael Roy Guertin, age 62 of Portage passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011. He was born on May 11, 1949 to the late Exor A. and Mary J. Guertin. Michael was a longtime Portage resident and worked for the Portage Sewer Dept.

He is survived by his daughter, Barbara (late Jimmy) Blair of Lake Station, IN; 1 brother, James (Zilla) Guertin of FL; 2 sisters, Alice (Tom) Hyatt of Rosedale, IN; Sharon R. (Edwin) Gasper of Portage, IN; 1 granddaughter, Jessica Duffee, 2 great-grandchildren, Anthony and Analise, 3 nieces, Tammy J. (Frank) Dees, Jennifer Gasper, Sharon (Timothy) Costello all of Portage, IN; and many other, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by 1 brother, Paul Guertin, and 2 sisters, Phyllis Rea, and Linda Villaforte.

Funeral services are Friday, December 9, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Cremation will follow with Rees Funeral Home and Cremation service.
