Michael Edmund Jaeger

Michael Edmund Jaeger, age 64 of Crown Point, IN, passed away Friday, August 9, 2013. He was born on July 11, 1949 in East Chicago, IN the son of Edmund and Mary Catherine (nee Street) Jaeger. Michael worked in sales for Voss Belting and Specialty Co. and proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard. He was a former volunteer firefighter in Schererville, and he started their EMT service. Michael was a frequent wind surfer at Wolf Lake, a sailor in Hammond and New Buffalo and enjoyed spending time with his family. Michael is survived by his wife, Janet Jaeger of Crown Point, IN; two sons, Ed (Kevin O'Rourke) Jaeger of Chicago, Illinois, Rich (Vicenta) Jaeger of Chesterton, IN; two grandchildren, Lucas and Gavin Jaeger; one sister, Lynda (Peter) Sommers of Fort Mill, SC, and many other loving family members and friends. His parents preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated.

A funeral service for Michael will be Wednesday, August 14, 2013 beginning with prayers at 9:30 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Winfield Chapel, 10909 Randolph St., Winfield/Crown Point, 46307 and processing to Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7667 E. 109th Ave., Crown Point for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial . Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Portage, IN.
