Age 54, at rest with our Lord on Wednesday, June 25, 2014. He was born on July 6, 1959, to Martin B. and Donna L. (nee Kewley) O'Melia Sr., in Gary, Indiana. Michael was an electrician with IBEW Local 728 Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Mike was a funny guy who loved to laugh. We remember him for his kindness, generosity and gentle spirit. Mike was a peacemaker and a simple man who enjoyed TV and loved sports.
Michael is survived by his mother, Donna L. O'Melia of Hobart; brother, Martin B. O'Melia Jr. of Hobart; and sister, Mary (Kevin) Coppinger of Chesterton. Mike was an uncle to Martin (Laura) O'Melia III of Leander, TX; Tina (Joe) Carrico of Cypress, TX; and Lauren Coppinger of Chesterton. Great-uncle to Joel, Alyssa and Ben of Cypress TX.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Martin B. O'Melia, Sr.

A memorial service for Michael will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Richard Huber at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana, 46342.
