Age 55, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014 doing what he loved, hunting and being outdoors. He was born on March 7, 1958 to Charles W. "Bill" and Norma L. (nee Dowd) Ondo in Gary, Indiana. Mike worked as a mill wright at U.S. Steel. He married the love of his life, Susan (nee Underwood) Ondo on November 8, 1993 in Jamaica. He was a member of the Scottish Rite and Gary Lodge No 677 F&AM. He was an avid hunter and loved his furry companion Gus.
Mike is survived by his loving family; wife of 20 yrs. Sue (nee Underwood) of Winamac, three sons, Joe (Missy) Ondo of Lake Station, Michael (Danielle) Egolf of Valparaiso, Simon (Andrea) Gresser of Hobart ; three daughters, Dana (Ed) Ondo of Lake Station, Megan Egolf of Valparaiso, Morgan Ondo of Illinois; six grandchildren, Alyssa, Amber, Coltin, Joey, Elin and Averie; parents, Bill and Norma Ondo of Lake Station; brother, Dan (Lonnie) Ondo of Hobart; two sisters, Sharron Gunning of Portage, Margie (Loren) Parduhn of Lake Station, other loving family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Hobart Police K-9 Department would be appreciated.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart. Cremation will follow.
