Michael Stephen Young, age 53, of Portage, passed away Thursday January 28, 2016 at his home. He was born in Gary, IN on January 31, 1962 to the late William "Bill" and Amelia "Bette" Young. Michael worked for Lakeshore Heating and Cooling as a technician. Michael will be remembered as a loving husband, step father, step grandfather, brother and friend.
Michael is survived by his wife Debbie (nee Wiesemann); step son, Anthony Rodriguez; step daughters, Serena Maria Rodriguez, Laura (Michael) Rodriguez; step grandsons, Anthony, Alexander, Avian; brothers, William Young, Ross ( Diane) Young; sisters, Darlene (Bill) McQuen, Patricia Robinson, Mary Beth (Robert) Ludvigson; and many nephews, nieces and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service for Michael will take place Saturday January 30, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave. Portage, IN 46368 with Chaplain Craig Forwalter officiating.
