Michelle J. Pruznak, age 36, a resident of Portage, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2012. She was born on October 7, 1975 in Valparaiso, Indiana, the daughter of Jerome and Veralyn Shoppa. Michelle was a 1994 graduate of Wheeler High School. She was married to Camden Pruznak on January 2, 1999. She was a member of the Hobart Presbyterian Church. A perfect day for Michelle was waking up with her children, eating breakfast and basking in the sun. She enjoyed visiting with her family, friends, going to the beach, attending garage sales, going to the casinos, and dining out.
Michelle is survived by her loving family, husband Camden Pruznak, son, Tristin Pruznak,, daughter, Ashlee Pruznak, all of Portage, parents Jerome and Veralyn Shoppa, Hobart, brother Phillip (Tammy) Shoppa, Crown Point, brother Michael (April) Shoppa, Portage, father-in-law Juan Rodriguez Sr. , East Chicago, mother-in-law; Andrea Nester, Florida, brother-in-law Juan (Michelle) Rodriguez, Hobart, 2 sister-in-laws; Effie Hemphill and Mary Rodriguez both of Florida, numerous Aunts, Uncles, nieces and nephews, Great-niece and other loving family and dear friends.She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Wayne Strouse and Vera Lanning-Borem-Strouse Paternal grandparents John(Mary Kazmerski) Shoppa, god parents; Fred and Lydia Kennedy and uncle; Frank Shoppa
A visitation for Michelle Pruznak will be held from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Rees Funeral Home – Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge, Hobart. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Rees Funeral Home, with Reverend Jeffrey Carter, officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Memorials in Michelle's memory may be made to Centier Bank in memory of Michelle J. Pruznak.
