MICHELLE NICOLE SMITH-DOOLEY, age 36, of Lake Station, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018.  She was born on March 8, 1982 in Michigan City, where she was raised.  Michelle moved to Lake Station 18 years ago when she met the love of her life, Lenny Dooley, Jr.   She attended IUN where received her bachelor's degree in nursing.  Michelle had worked as an RN at St. Mary Medical Center where she loved taking care of her patients.  She was a loyal Cubs fan, but above all she cherished her son, LJ, and the time she spent with her family.

Michelle is survived by the love of her life and soulmate, Lenny Dooley, Jr.; son, Leonard William "LJ" Dooley; sister, Marla Kay Smith; step dad, Chuck Bickell; niece and nephew, Markayla Michelle and Markis William Smith; aunt, Lynne (Matt) Smith-Beckette; mother, Lisa Gilley father and mother-in-law, Leonard, Sr. and Cynthia Dooley; sisters-in-law, Kim (William) Dixon and Amber (Bobbie) Milsap; nieces, Emily and Haley Goings, and Alexuis Dixon and nephew, William Dixon, Jr.; other loving family and dear friends.

Michelle was preceded in death by her father, William Smith.

A funeral service for Michelle will be held Friday, July 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342. Burial at Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City.
