Mildred F. Vowels, Age 86, of Valparaiso, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014. She was born on July 7, 1928 to Oscar and Mabel Hartline in Jonesboro, IL. Mildred had been a Northwest Indiana resident for over 60 years. She had been a faithful member of Central Baptist Church for many years and was a seamstress at Knitting Mill Specialties for 37 years. Mildred enjoyed traveling, hiking and going to Vince Gill concerts. She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend.

Mildred is survived by her loving daughter, Debbie Vowels of Valparaiso; brother, Raymond (Sue) Hartline of Alto Pass, IL; sister, Helen (Francis) Dodd of Anna, IL; sister-in-law, Jeanette Vowels of Marion, IL; nieces and nephews, Rhonda (John) McGuire, Roxanne (Delbert) Smallwood, Rosalind Sedlacek, Russell (Mary Jo) Hartline, Joe (Joanne) Hinkle, Becky (Steve) Stadt, Vicky Vowels; great-nephews and great-nieces including, Jeremy, Erik, and T.J.; several cousins; special friends including, Marge Schafer, Fred and Debbie Karrle, Dale and Carol Bensinger; dog, Sparky.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Bill; her parents; and sister, Mary June.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Baptist Church or the charity of donor's choice.

A visitation for Mildred will be Monday, July 28, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 Noon at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, with Rev. David R.
