Millie Arocho

Mildred "Millie" A. Arocho, age 44, a life-long resident of Lake Station, IN passed away after fighting a long illness on Wednesday, March 9, 2022.

Millie was born on December 31, 1977 in Lake Station, IN to the late Juan "Eddie" and Ana (nee Adames) Arocho.  She was a graduate of Thomas A. Edison High School, Class of 1995.  Millie earned her bachelor's degree in Business from the Calumet College of St. Joseph.  She worked as an assistant in the bookstore at Valparaiso University, and previously at the Portage Assessor's office.

Millie was involved with her comedy troupe: Well Suited Improv Theater.  She loved to perform comedy and loved to make others laugh.  Millie was kind and gentle, and never asked for any help.  She was a beloved daughter, sister, niece, cousin, aunt, and dear friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Millie is survived by her brothers: Eddie (Dannielle) Arocho and Rich (Rose) Knight; uncles: Julian (Rose) Adames and Victor (Carmen) Arocho; aunts: Millie (Luis) Rodriguez, Carmen (late Hector) Adames-Gonzalez, and Emma Arocho; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; a group of very close friends: Lori, Susan, and Jamie; and her comedy troupe.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents: Eddie and Ana; paternal grandparents: Frolan and Juana Arocho; maternal grandparents: Jullian and Francisca Adames; aunts: Carmen Hernandez and her name sake: Mildred Arocho; and uncles: Tony Arocho and Hector Gonzalez.

Family and friends may gather at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel (600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart) on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 3:00-7:00 P.M.  Prayers will be held at Rees Hobart Chapel on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 10:15 A.M.   A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 A.M from St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church (2447 Putman St., Lake Station).  At Rest: Calvary Cemetery.
