Minerva M. Yanez, 75, of Hobart passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023,

surrounded by her family.  She was born December 21, 1947, in Tampico,

Tamaulipas, Mexico to the late Rodolfo Galindo and Rosa (Nona) Yanez.

Minerva moved to the United States in 1967 and raised her son, Jose.  She

worked for St. Mary's Hospital in Hobart for 40 years.  She went back to

school in the 1990's to receive a bachelor's degree in computer sciences.

Minerva enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest.  She could often be found

shopping or eating at her favorite restaurants.  She spent time with her family

on adventures like camping and kayaking; and when she was home, Minerva

would cuddle up with her beloved cat, Cookie.  In her spare time, she loved to

craft and garden. Above all, Minerva loved her family and always made them

smile.  She was always happy and wanted to spread that to others.  Sadness

is not allowed!

Minerva will be forever remembered by her son, Jose (Carrie Fitzpatrick)

Yanez; granddaughter, Haley Yanez; niece and nephews, Lydia, Robert,

David, and Danny Yanez; and many other extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Minerva was preceded in passing by her brother,

Roberto Yanez.

The Yanez family will receive friends from 5:00pm – 7:00pm Saturday,

November 18, 2023, at Rees Funeral Home Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge

Road, Hobart, IN 46326, with service to follow at 7:00pm.  In lieu of flowers
