Miriam Rose Gonzalez, age 42, of Portage, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018. She was born on February 19, 1976 in Chicago, Illinois to Jose and Lydia Gonzalez. She graduated from Hubbard High School in 1994. She loved her music and in her free-time she liked to DJ and sing karaoke. She loved her dogs, they were her fur babies. She will be remembered for her vibrant smile and her caring heart.

Miriam is survived by her father, Jose (Gloria) Gonzalez of Portage; Sisters Elisea Gonzalez and Francesca (Jordan) Smothers; Brother Eric Gonzalez; Nieces Kayla Nalley, Sophia, Olivia, and Mila Smothers.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lydia Gonzalez. Memorial contributions in Miriam's name may be made to the family to help in the cost of her funeral expenses.

A funeral service for Miriam will take place Friday, November 23, 2018 at 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave. Portage, Indiana 46368.
