Mona Scriba (nee Finton), age 86 a longtime Hobart resident passed away Friday, February 6, 2015. She was born on December 31, 1928 in Gary, Indiana to the late Warren and Ann Finton. She graduated from Emerson High School. Mona worked as an Insurance Executive. She had a great love of the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, airplanes and anything mechanical. Mona lived between Hobart and Marquette, Michigan with her husband, Jay, who preceded her in death on November 5th of 2014.

She is survived by one brother, Milan (Carol) Finton of Sandusky, OH; one niece, Joanne (Thomas Fairfield) Finton of Dyer, IN; three nephews, Michael (Teena) Finton of Cedar Lake, IN; Tim (Celia) Finton of Milan, OH; Greg (Julie) Finton of Huron, OH; and very dear friend, Cecelia Kenney of Hobart, IN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alden "Jay" Scriba and one brother, Robert Finton.

Memorial donations in Mona's honor may be made to the Hobart Historical Society or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Visitation will be on Sunday, February 15, 2015 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. There will be a time of caring and sharing of memories at 5 p.m. Graveside services will be Monday, February 16, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, Hobart.
