Monica Zupko, age 49, a longtime resident of Lake Station passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2010. She was born on July 9, 1961 in Gary, Indiana the daughter of Albert and Helen Zupko. Monica was a graduate of Edison High School and had also attended Indiana University. Monica proudly served her country in the United States Air Force. Monica had worked as a clerk for an insurance company, was a member of Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, and a member of the Saint Francis Choir.
She is survived by her loving family; sister Mary Ann Zupko, Lake Station, brother George (Karen) Zupko, San Rafael, CA, nephew Matthew Zupko, San Rafael, CA, and other loving family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Helen Zupko.
A visitation for Monica Zupko will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 directly at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2447 Putnum Street, Lake Station with a mass of Christian Burial being offered at 10:00 am with Father Eduardo Malagon, officiating. Burial will be at McCool Cemetery in Portage. In lieu of flowers memorials in Monica's memory may be made to her sister Mary Ann Zupko.
