Myrtle Ruth Walk

MYRTLE RUTH WALK, age 85, of Lake Station, passed away February 16, 2018.  She was born in Bolivar, TN on January 24, 1933 to the late Floyd John and Bessie Louise Hazlegrove.  Myrtle worked for 29 years as a head cashier and bookkeeper for the Key Markets (Thrifty Mart).  She was a member of United Food Workers.  Myrtle enjoyed working in her garden tending to her flowers going to rummage sales and flea markets.

She is survived by her daughter, Myra (David) Miller of Folsom, CA; soul mate and companion of 43 years, John Kell and his children Margie Kell, Lake Station Becky (Zane) Owen, Phoenix, AZ and John William (Terry) Kell; grandchildren, Erik (Leslie) St. Germain, Melissa (Trevor) Lambert, Mark (Angela) and Andy (Melissa) St. Germain, Joshua Walk, Zander Owen, Heather (Rodney) Newman, Shannon Wallace, Amber (Jason) Phillips, Kaylee Engstrom;  great grandchildren, Grady Lambert, Austin McGuire, Braylon and Fiona Rose St. Germain, Kenzie and Mason Newman, baby girl on the way, Kennedy Williamson;  brother, Thomas Ray (Marta) Hazlegrove, Bolivar, TN; brother-in-law, Gene Hooper. Phoenix, AZ and Hayes Bryant, Bolivar, TN; sister-in-law, Thelma Hazlegrove, Pocahontas, TN, and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Randy Walk; brother, Billy Gene Hazlegrove; and 2 sisters, Barbara Hooper and Frances Bryant.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Homes, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge.  Graveside services will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Middleburg Cemetery in Middleburg, TN.  For information , please contact (219) 942-2109.
