Nancee A. Shoemaker, age 79, of Lake Station passed away November 11,2015 at the Golden Living Center in Portage. She was born March 20,1936 in Gary, Indiana to the late Oscar and Ernestine (nee Renfro) Martin. She was a long time member of Community United Presbyterian Church in Lake Station. She was a hard working stay at home mother that cared for her children. Nancee was an avid Elvis and Cubs fan and enjoyed bowling. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda (Don) Ginter of Lake Station and Laura (Dennis) Vizena of Lake Station; three grandchildren, Brian (Cassie) Ginter, Dale (Cassie) Ginter and Bobby (Sarah) Vizena; great grandson, Bryce Ginter and many other loving family members and friends.
Nancee was preceded in death by her husband, Robert William Shoemaker; two sons, Bobby and Al Shoemaker; her parents, Oscar and Ernestine Martin; and two brothers, William and James Martin.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Asera Care Hospice, 808 Vale Park Rd, Valparaiso,Indiana would be appreciated.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 14,2015 at the Rees Funeral Home, 3781 Central Avenue, Lake Station, Indiana. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 13,2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel 3781 Central Avenue, Lake Station, Indiana 46405.
