Nancy Marie Evans (nee Ortiz), age 49, of Lake Station, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2019.  She was born on June 24, 1970 to Betty (nee Pridemore) Ortiz. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

Nancy is survived by her son, Brandon Evans of Indianapolis; daughter, Cassandra (Edward) Burgos of Indianapolis, Indiana; five grandchildren, Deijanya, Ivabela, Leo Burgos and Brydon Smith and Brandon Evans; mother, Betty Ortiz; brother, Michael (Stephanie) Ortiz of Hobart; three sisters, Julie (Bob Arvin) Ortiz, Jackie (Leka Nikolic) Ortiz, Laura (Thomas) Williams all of Hobart; many loving nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her son, Caine Evans and maternal grandparents, Joe and Viola Pridemore.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.

A funeral service will be held    Monday, July 1, 2019 at 12:30 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana, with Pastor Bob Burton. Burial will be held at McCool Cemetery in Portage. A visitation will be held Monday, July 1, 2019 from 11:30 pm- 12:30 pm also at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
