Nancy May (née Starkey) Larson, age 94 of Hobart, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026. She was born on April 3, 1931, in Whitley County, Indiana, to the late Joe and Lena Starkey.

Nancy earned her master’s degree in education from Valparaiso University and devoted her career to teaching mathematics, touching many lives through her patience and love of learning. Outside the classroom, she found great joy in quilting and creating beautiful, meaningful pieces for those she loved.

She was a faithful and dedicated member of Augustana Lutheran Church and the Gideon Society Auxiliary, where she served with quiet grace and commitment.

Nancy is survived by her beloved husband, Fred Larson; her children, Pamela Ann (Keith) Addison, Judith Kay (Jim) Sikora, Connie Lee (Dan) Abelseth, Glen Allen (Jean) Larson, James Eric (Shelly Starbuck) Larson, and Alice Lynn (Nick) Dawson; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; her sister, Shirley Hile; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Visitation for Nancy will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Augustana Lutheran Church, 207 Kelly Street, Hobart, IN 46342. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the church. She will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery.
