Nancy L. Miller, age 78, of Portage and formerly of Glen Park passed away Thursday July 18, 2013 in the St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart. She was born August 24, 1934 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Thomas and Ernestine (Weber) O'Brien. Nancy retired from the Lake County Convalescent Home where she worked as a LPN. She was a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of American Legion Post #100.
Nancy is survived by four children Joseph (Jennifer) Strickley of Hobart, Tina Castillo of Valparaiso, Linda (Chris) Chrzanowski of Lawrenceburg and Sandra (Jerry Stonehocker) Mitchell of Portage; one sister Chris Peters of Fort Worth, TX; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband George Miller, parents, and two brothers Donald and Jerry O'Brien.
Visitation and funeral services will be held Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm until the funeral service begins at 6:00 pm with Pastor Bob Burton officiating. Cremation will follow. Burial of cremains will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage at a later date.
