Nanette K. Shepard, age 35 of Lake Station passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013. She was born on January 24, 1978 in Hobart, Indiana to the late Terry and Eileen Shepard. Nanette was a former Portage resident and worked at the Red Rooster in Hobart. She was also a member of and the Portage VFW Women's Auxiliary Post 7760. Nanette served as a bartender at the VFW Post 7760 and at the Lake Station VFW Post 9323. Nanette enjoyed drinking beer.

She is survived by 2 sisters, Jill Green of Portage, Indiana; Donna Louderback of South Dakota; 1 brother, Isaac (Robin) Shepard of Portage, IN; 2 nephews, Hunter Martinko, Javery Louderback, 2 nieces, Maegan Louderback, and Raychel Louderback.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family.
