NELLIE CHEEK, age 89, of Portage, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021.  She was born on April 5, 1932 to the late Frank and Pearlie Overbey. Nellie was a member of Hobart Assembly of God where she enjoyed being a part of the Son-Shine Gang. Nellie was a prayer warrior who loved Jesus and her family. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was dearly loved by all who knew her and welcomed anyone with a huge smile and a hug.

Nellie will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends, including her 5 sons, Bill (Leah) Cheek, Don ( Irene) Cheek, Michael (Ramona) Cheek, Theo Jr. (Jill) Cheek, and Randy (Marlene) Cheek; 3 daughters, Lynn (Lonnie) Coppinger, Pearl Cheek, and Evelyn (Wayne) Wathen; brother, Randal (Sharon) Overbey; grandchildren, Kevin (Aimee), Bryan, Timothy (Megan), Nick (Ashley), Melody (David), Christina (John), Angela (Andrew), Kelli (Alexander), Josh (Lisa), Adam (Heather), Steven (Misty), Tessa, Theo, Steven (Heather), Jacob and Ava; great grandchildren, Hunter, Halie, Shai-ann, Lydia, Nicholas, Ada, Farrah, Bodhi, Matthew, Hannah, Kayla, Cecelia, Daniel, Mikah, Jamil, Ashley, Clay, Eric, Allie, Katie, Brent, Caleb, Davin, Kody, Calvin, Cassie, Chelsea, Christina, Adam Jr., Skylar, Abby, Catie, Zakk, Stephanie, Carly, Owen, Charley, Madilyn, Raelynn, and Jeffery; Great-great grandchildren, Eleanor, Elijah, Lyric, Kajia, Isabella, Luis, Lorenzo, Sutton, Ceyena, Luca, Grayson, Amara, Isla, Ricky.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Theo Sr.; sister, Mattie Williams, granddaughter, Nellie J. Towle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hobart Assembly of God Missions Fund.

There will be private burial services held for Nellie with a public memorial service to take place at a future date.
