Nestor "Jimmy" Singh, 62, of Valparaiso, IN passed away surrounded by loved ones on November 8, 2024.

Nestor, affectionately known as Jimmy, was born on October 6, 1962 in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. He relocated to Puerto Rico, where he met and married Theresa Gomez, with whom he shares daughters, Denise and Theresa. Nestor and his family settled in Northwest Indiana. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Nestor took great pride in working on his yard. He also loved spending time on the water, playing cards, preparing traditional Trinidadian meals for his daughters, and he loved to throw a good family party. He was a die hard Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. Nestor retired with 29 years of service as a member of Laborers' Union Local 81.

Nestor is survived by his daughters, Denise (Chris) Hodges and their children, Olivia, Camryn, and Alexander; Theresa (Fred Joseph) Singh and son Graham Joseph; and their mother, Theresa Gomez; his parents June Singh, and Domingo Arroyo; and siblings Michael (Sheryl) Alexander, Monalisa Singh, Melissa Singh, Nicol Singh, Allison (Mark) Singh, Trevor Singh, Dieter Singh, Inga (Iman) Singh, Rafael Arroyo, and Guillermo Arroyo; his extended Gomez family; and nieces and nephews.

Nestor was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ivy Alexander.

Visitation for Nestor will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave. Portage, Indiana. Cremation will follow. Nestor had a love for gardening and adorned his home with an array of plants.
