NICK E. LIBICIAN, age 81, of Hobart, passed away Monday, June 11, 2012. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 20, 1930 to Nick and Lois Libician, who preceded him in death. Nick served his country in the US Navy and was a retiree of US Steel. He was involved with the Boy Scouts and was one of the first Scout Masters in Merrillville/Green Acres. He was also a member of S.O.A.R. Nick always had a smile for everyone and a fantastic attitude, which surely helped him through his tough physical challenges. His children and grandchildren miss him dearly, but are at peace because they know he joins his beloved wife, Betty and oldest son, Kevin and a brother, Donald.

Nick is survived by son, Robert Libician of Merrillville; 3 daughters, Linda (Randy) Libician-Welch of Stockton, CA, Cynthia (Wayne) Benge of Kouts, and Rebecca (Fred) Kapica of Hobart; 4 grandchildren, Eric and Kaleb Kapica, Melanie and Shawn Benge; and brother, Fred Libician of Chicago, IL.

A funeral service for Nick will be Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage, with Deacon Rich Huber officiating.
