Nilda R. Cruz

Nilda R. Cruz, age 81, of Miller passed away Wednesday January 17, 2018 at the Methodist Northlake Hospital in Gary.  She was born December 15, 1936 in Las Pierdas, Puerto Rico to the late Jose and Julia (Aponte) Dios.  She worked for the Anderson Company for many years.  She loved her family and her flowers. She was an avid gardener.  Nilda was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church.

Nilda is survived by her six children, Eugene Rosario of Schererville, Maria (John Martinez) Gonzales of Merrillville, David (Tracy) Rosario of Wichita, KS, Doris (Carlos) Leon of New York, NY, Adi Rosario of New York, NY and Papo Rosario of New York, NY; twelve grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and many dear friends and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son Harry; one sister and two brothers.

Visitation for Nilda will be from 2:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.  Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday January 25, 2018 at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue Portage, IN 46368.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
