Norma A. Berg, age 98 a lifetime resident of Hobart passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015. She was born on May 26, 1916 in Hobart, Indiana to the late Gust and Anna (nee Palm) Lindborg. She retired from Merrillville Schools where she had worked as a School Teacher. She was a member of Retired Teachers Association, Lake County and State AARP, Lake County Convascelent Auxiliary, PEO, Welch, and Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hobart. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her children, Brian (Jean) Berg of Valparaiso, Indiana, Gloria (Kevin) Yancey of Avon, Indiana; nine grandchildren; 1 great grandson and many other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert L. Berg; her parents; four siblings, Frank Lindborg, Mildred Lute, Gladys Fasel and Raymond Lindborg.
Memorial donations in Norma's honor may be made to the Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Funeral services are Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church, 207 Kelly Street, Hobart, Indiana 46342 with Rev. Charles R. Strietelmeier officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Visitation is Friday, March 13, 2015 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342, with additional visitation on the morning of the service from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church.
