Norma L. Coons, age 71, of Portage and passed away Monday, December 21, 2015 at Saint Mary Medical Center in Hobart. Norma was born December 20, 1944, in Gary, IN to the late Don and Daisy (nee Miller) Rich. She was a retired bus driver for Lake Station and Hobart Indiana. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
Norma is survived by her loving husband Keith L. Coons Sr. of Portage; her son, Keith Lee Coons Jr. of Lake Station; daughter, Beverly (Garry) Edson of La Porte; three brothers, James Rich of Tennessee, Ray (Nancy) Rich of Lake Station, Earl Rich of Valparaiso; two sisters, Elizabeth Martin of Hobart and Mary Pruett of Wheat-field,and many nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Rich and three sisters, Dorothy Boothe, Minnie Fischer and Sylvia Rich.
A funeral service for Norma will take place at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana with Mark L Hostetler officiating.
