Norma J. Gilbertson, age 75, of Fort Wayne, and formerly of Portage, passed away March 17, 2015 at home. She was born on September 1, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Ralph and Jennie Reidenga. She was a member of the Lake Station VFW Ladies Auxiliary 9323.

Norma is survived by her sons: Michael Yonker, Joseph (Sabrina) DeYoung, William (Kathy) DeYoung; daughter, Patricia (Roger) Haupert; step-daughters: Rhonda (Michael) Wiseman, Jeri Lynn (William) Foster; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sister, Eleanor Porter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Jennie Reidenga; husband, Rodney Gilbertson; brother, Robert Reidenga. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Norma's name may be made to the American Cancer Society,1551 East 85th Avenue, Merrillville, IN 46410.

A funeral service for Norma will take place Monday, March 23, 2015 at 12:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue Portage, with Reverend Charles Strietelmeier officiating. She will be laid to rest at Calumet Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, March 23, 2015 from 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
