Norman E. Moon

Norman E. Moon, age 88, of DeMotte passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021 at home. He was born on May 5, 1933 to the late Ewing and Eva Moon. At the age of eighteen, he joined the United States Air Force. Norman was employed as an Electrician for US Steel for 44 years. He was a Mason and a member of the American Legion Post# 440 in DeMotte. Norman was a simple man who enjoyed reading, woodworking and fishing.

He is survived by his children, Joyce Schonert, Jim (Patricia) Reinhold, Michelle (Peter) Moon-Shippen;  grandchildren, Kevin (Rebecca) Drummond, David (Larkin) Drummond, Heather Collazo, Kelly (Chris) Young, Erin (Bob) Gilmore, Courtney (Aaron) Taylor, Chris (Erin) Reinhold, Isaac Lopez, Isabella Shippen; many great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who lovingly referred to him as their uncle Shorty.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Moon; sons, Michael Moon and Danny Reinhold; brothers, Curt, Joe, Roy, Harvey and Robert Moon; sister, Mary Moon.

A funeral service for Norman will take place at 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart.
