Obituary

Olga Sukta, age 82, of Valparaiso and a former longtime Illinois resident, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013 at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart. Olga was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 14, 1931 to Joseph & Helen Fekete. She retired from Republic/LTV Steel with 15 years of service. Olga was a former member of Annunciata Catholic Church in Chicago.
She is survived by her daughter, Denise Blackwell of Valparaiso, son, Mark (Mai) Sukta of California, 4 grandchildren: Caitlin Blackwell, Joseph Blackwell, Jason Blackwell and James (Jamie) Blackwell, 2 great grandchildren: Dylan & Ryder; and brother, Joseph (Taki) Fekete of Sacramento, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Helen Fekete, loving husband of 55 years, Joseph Sukta, brother, Rudolph Fekete and son-in-law, Donald R. Blackwell.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer's Association Greater Indiana, 50 East 91st St. Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240 would be appreciated.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Monday, July 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 509 W. Division Rd., Valparaiso, IN 46385, with Rev. David H. Gosnell officiating. Mrs. Sukta will be taken to church Monday at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City, Illinois. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2013 with a prayer service at 2 p.m., at Rees Funeral Home, Winfield Chapel, 10909 Randolph St., Winfield/Crown Point, IN 46307.
