Oscar Lee Wilson was born on May, 22, 1948 in Joiner, Arkansas. He was the sixth child born into the union of Napoleon and Ophelia Lucille Wilson.
Oscar was a Master Sergeant in the United States Marines for four years (1967-1971) where he received numerous medals. After serving in the Marines, Oscar moved to Gary, Indiana and worked for Amoco Oil Company. He then moved on to work for BP Oil Company as a Chief Engineer where he received a multitude of awards and accolades before he retired after 36 years with the company. He was always reliable, dependable and diligently worked overtime and in whatever capacity he was needed.
Oscar married Sybil Hicks and from that union came one son, Damon, who was born in 1972.
Oscar later married Juanita and remained her husband until his death.
Oscar was known as a gentle, easy going soul who loved life and people. He was generous with his time, donations and with himself. He was always willing to lend a hand and be of service. Oscar was also very persuasive and determined to get things done the right way (which usually meant his way!)
Oscar was our friend, brother, father, husband, uncle, grandfather and much more. We will always be grateful for his place in our lives. We know that he will be watching over us with his infectious grin and loving heart.
Oscar is survived by his wife Juanita Wilson; son, Damon (Shatonya L. Terry) Wilson; step children Fernando Brown, James Brown, Melanie (Brian) Evans; grandchildren, Damon Anthony Wilson Jr. and Dontrell Lee Wilson; siblings, Emma Jean Coker (Lee) of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Angelean Penermon of St. Louis, Missouri. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will love and cherish his memory forever.
