Pamela J. Gibson, 87, of Hobart, passed away peacefully in her home Saturday, October 28, 2023.  She was born May 12, 1936, in Salem, Indiana to the late Lawrence A., and Catherine Dorsey.

Pamela was married to Raymond Gibson in 1976 and they blended their families to include 4 sons.  After the boys grew up, Pamela worked for a while at American Greetings.  In her spare time, she enjoyed painting small canvases to share with her friends and family and to sell at local craft fairs.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hobart where she sang in the choir and spent many Fridays socializing over luncheon.  Pamela will always be remembered as a very sweet lady, empathetic and compassionate, caring for others before herself.  She loved her family dearly and will be missed greatly.

Pamela is survived by her children, Jeffrey Arthur, Jack Arthur, Ron (Esther) Gibson, and Steve Gibson; grandchildren, Caitlin (Kevin) Gallagher, Kiley (Michelle) Arthur, David (Erin) Gibson, and Theresa (Branda) Anderson; great grandchildren, Payton and Riley Gibson, and Cooper Anderson; siblings, Richard Dorsey, and Betsy Goffiney; and many, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband Raymond, Pamela was preceded in passing by her first husband, AJ Arthur, Jr., siblings, Diane Miller, David Dorsey, Candace Methot, and John Dorsey; grandson, Colin Arthur; and son-in-law, Roger Cupples.

Family will receive friends from 1:00pm – 3:00pm Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Rees Funeral Home Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342, with the memorial service to follow at 3:00pm, officiated by Pastor Leah Peksenak of First United Methodist Church. Inurnment will take place Monday, November 6 at 10:00am at Calumet Park Cemetery, 2305 W. 73rd Ave., Merrillville, IN 46410.  Procession will leave from Rees Hobart Chapel at 9:30am.
