REV. DAVID A. MYERS, age 73, of Hobart, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2011 at home. He was born on October 20, 1938 in Kokomo, IN to Ralph and Edna Myers. Pastor Myers married Sharon Sue Armstrong on March 26, 1960 at the Bible Baptist Church in Kokomo. He proudly served his country in US Air Force. Currently he was serving as pastor of New Life Bible Baptist Church in Cedar Lake and was the former pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Lake Station. He will be missed dearly.
Pastor Myers is survived by his wife, Sharon Sue (nee Armstrong); 3 children, Nita (Carl) Gagliano of Hobart, Michael (Ann) Myers of Shelby, and Kevin (Angie) Myers of Lake Station; 7 grandchildren, Michael Myers, Sarah Myers, Elena Yarsh, Teresa Yarsh, Madelyn Myers, Macyrae Myers, and Mikell Gregory; 1 sister, Alice (Don) Messenger of Sebring, FL; several nieces and nephews and other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service for Pastor Myers will be Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart with Rev. John Rumley and Rev. Bill Meyer. Burial will follow at McCool Cemetery.
