Patricia Doris Bowles

Patricia Doris Bowles, age 86, a resident of Valparaiso and formerly of Portage, passed away on Sunday, January 01, 2012. She was born on December 22, 1925 in Gary, Indiana, the daughter of Leo and Florence Sullivan. Patricia was married to James Bowles on July 3, 1946 in Gary. Patricia retired from Chesterton State Bank as head teller. She was a member of Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church and a member of the altar and rosary sodality. She was active with both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in Portage. Patricia enjoyed quilting and fishing. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

Patricia is survived by her loving family; son James (Lorraine) Bowles, Santa Rosa, California, daughters Jeanette Gordon, Lisbon, Iowa, and Karen Sederberg Parker, Valparaiso, 7 grandchildren Brandi (D.J.) Fasel, Jonathan Bowles, Iris (fiancée Daniel) Gordon, Ellen (fiancée Sean) Parker, James Gordon, Eric Bowles, and Robert Parker, 4 great-grandchildren Monika, Derek, Tinley, and Dominic, brother Charles (Polly) Sullivan, West Melbourne, Florida, sister Margaret Pasa, West Melbourne, Florida, and other loving family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Bowles, brothers Tom, Dave, and John Sullivan, and sister Mary Geraldine Ramage.

A visitation for Patricia Bowles will be held from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at Rees Funeral Home – Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage. A morning visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 on Thursday, January 5, 2012, directly at Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church, with a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Memorials in Patricia's memory may be made to Nativity Catholic Church.
