Patricia "Pat" Caplinger, age 85, of Portage, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014. Pat was born to the late Cyllus and Erma (Nee Shepard) Rosser on February 12, 1929 in Terre Haute, IN. She married Milford R. Caplinger on August 28, 1948 in Gary, IN. Pat had been a resident of Portage for the last 52 years. She was a member of Real Life Community Church of Portage. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.Pat is survived by her husband of 65 years, Milford R. Caplinger; son, Dennis (Phyllis) Caplinger Sr. of Oklahoma City, OK; three daughters, Carol Bascue of Independence, MO, Sharon (Craig) Ingram of Westville,IN Sandi (Edward) Blastick of Valparaiso, IN, ten grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, many nieces, nephews, and other loving family, friends and her furry companions Frodo and Lulu.Pat was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Funeral service for Pat will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Bob Burton officiating at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave. Portage, IN 46368. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 from 2-8 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
