PATRICIA MARCELLA CHRISTENSON, age 97, of Schererville, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025. She was born on April 29, 1927, in Gary, Indiana. Pat was a longtime member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and also belonged to Delta Theta Tau Sorority. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling and playing Pinochle. Near the end of WWII, Pat sang stateside for the United Service Organizations (USO). She loved fishing and cherished the time she spent with her family at Virgin Lake in Wisconsin. She also enjoyed many U.S. road trips and international travel, especially to Sicily and Italy. Pat will be missed dearly and remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.

Pat is survived by her 4 children, Frank "Skip" Lazzaro, Jr., Sheryl "Sherry" Lazzaro, Lynn (Frank) Ricciardi, and Robert (Jackie) Christenson; 8 grandchildren, Regina (Phillip) Pimentel, Joseph B.(Alyse) Lazzaro, Katrina (Cody) Colvin, Brittany (Duke) LaMere, Marcella (Joe) Ricciardi, Chloe (Andrew) Ricciardi, Zachary (Joseph) Christenson, Hannah Thacker; 8 great grandchildren, Phillip, Gianna, Dominic, Sofia, Joseph T., Frankie, Charlie, Braelyn, Duke; sisters, Janice (the late Dan) Raymond, Mary (Gerry) Scheub, and Carolyn Davidson; dear friend, Tessie Bartos; many nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Marcella Petersen; sister, Frances (George) Sirko; dear friends, Barbara Johnson and Beverly Boguslawski.

In light of Pat's past involvement as a board member, donations may be made in her memory to the Schererville Civic Funds, Inc., PO Box 5, Schererville, IN 46375.

Funeral services for Pat will be Thursday, January 30, 2025 beginning with visitation from 9:30 a.m.-10:30  with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Martin Dobrzynski presiding, all DIRECTLY at St. Michaels Church,1 W. Wilhelm St., Schererville. She will be laid to rest at St. Michael's Cemetery.
