Patricia L. Gospodarek, age 94, of Hobart, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Pat was born on April 2, 1931, in Gary, Indiana to the late Stephen and Adele Zytko. She grew up in Gary, where she attended school at Lew Wallace.
In 1954, she married the love of her life, Donald Gospodarek. Together, they shared 56 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2010. Their marriage was built on love, laughter, and devotion to their family.
Family was the center of Pat's world. She was happiest when surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished forever. She is survived by her children, Ken (Chris) Gospodarek, Joe (Donna) Gospodarek, Ronald Gospodarek and Gina and Rob Hubster. 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; brothers, Tom (Freida) Zytko and Eugene (Doreen) Gospodarek; sister, Stephanie Tokarz; other loving family and dear friends.
Pat was also preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Zytko; sisters, Donna (Joe) Glavan, Irene Waytasek.
Pat had a deep passion for gardening, cooking, volunteering at church, reading, and crocheting. Her warmth, generosity, and spirit touched everyone who knew her. She was known as Mom and Grandma to many.
Family and friends are welcome to visit with the family on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 3-7 p.m. with a 3:30 St. Anne's Rosary Service at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd. Funeral services for Pat will be Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 10 a.m. directly at St. Bridget Catholic Church, corner of Front and Center Streets, Hobart, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Services will conclude at church and cremation will follow. Private burial of cremains will be at a later date at Calvary Cemetery.

Pat will be remembered for her love, strength, and devotion to family — a legacy that will live on through all who knew her.
