Patricia Ann Greer (nee Sohovich) was called home by our Heavenly Father on Monday, June 15, 2015. She was born August 12, 1948, in Gary, Indiana, to the late John and Catherine Sohovich. Most recently residing in Valparaiso, Patty grew up and lived most of her life in Lake Station. She graduated from East Gary Edison High School with the Class of 1966 and formerly attended St. Francis Xavier Church. She will be deeply missed by her children and family. She is survived by daughters Jessica (Peter) Gage and Angela (Jason Gumulauski) Greer, grandchildren Ella and Louis Gage, siblings Judy Sandersen, Tom Sohovich, Margie Sheffer, Richard Sohovich, Mick (Brenda) Sohovich, and Greg (Penny) Sohovich, as well as former husband Gary Greer. She was preceded in death by one brother, John Joseph Sohovich, along with her parents. Patty enjoyed nothing more than the smiles, laughter and happiness of her family. She adored her grandkids and loved to hear them say Nana. She cherished the early years when she was able to spend hers days with them, teaching them and making french toast with their help. Patty was a wonderful cook and liked to be in the kitchen trying new recipes and cooking for her family, an interest she passed to her girls who were lucky to get her knack and a few secrets. She had a great sense of humor and delighted in talking to people, making new friends, dancing and gardening. In recent years, she greatly appreciated the care and friendship of many nurses and medical therapists who helped her. A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, June 22, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic
Church (638 North Calumet Road, Chesterton, IN) with Rev. James W. Meade officiating.
A time of fellowship will follow in the Church Narthex. Though no luncheon at this time,
Monetary donations will be used for Patty's Celebration of Life gathering near her birth
date this August. Cremation will have preceded Mass with Rees Funeral Home and
Cremation Service, Hobart. Although we are apart, your spirit lives within me, forever in my heart
