Patricia A. Jarvis, age 49 of Portage passed away Monday, September 5, 2011. She was born on April 9, 1962 in Gary, Indiana. She was a longtime Portage resident and a graduate of Hobart High School. Patricia worked at the Hobart Elks as a Waitress.

She is survived by 1 daughter, Kelly Jarvis of Portage, IN; 1 sister, Debbie (James) Bordelon of Valparaiso, IN, 1 step-father, Ulrich Welcome, of Burns Harbor, IN.

She was preceded in death by her father, Luther Schwager, and her mother, Hazel Welcome.

Funeral services are Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., with Rev. John Hurt officiating. A memorial potluck will follow at the 29th Ave. Baptist Church in Lake Station. Visitation is Saturday, September 10, 2011 just prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
