Patricia M. Smith

Patricia M. Smith age 81, of Dyer, formerly of Hammond, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Life Care Center of Valparaiso.  She was born in Hammond, Indiana on May 26, 1936 to the late Emil W. and Lily Mae (nee Askins) Sabinske.  Patricia was a cheerleader at Hammond Tech and enjoyed bowling at Stardust and Plaza bowling lanes. She was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Schererville.  Patricia served on the Visitation Committee Boards and sang in the church choir. Patricia will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Patricia is survived by her loving sons, Donald L. (Mary) Smith, Jr., Christopher (Julie) Hamrick; daughters, Sherri (Scott) Burbage, Carole "Lorri" Smith; granddaughter, Rachel (Tim) Frencl, Amanda and Courtney Hamrick; brother Walter E. (Audrey) Sabinske; sister, Carole A. Shelton and other loving family members and friends .

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald L. Smith Sr. and her parents.
