Patty Lynn Peterson

Age 72 of Chesterton, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at her home. She was born on February 10,1952 to the late Donald and Patricia (nee Hertaus) Fife in Gary, Indiana. Patty retired from St Mary Medical where she worked in the Emergency Room as an administrative assistant. On April 15, 1994, Patty married Gayle Peterson and they spent thirty loving years together. Patty was a strong and independent woman with a great sense of humor. She enjoyed spending time watching old game shows and snuggling with her dog Lucy, who she loved dearly. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Patty is survived by her husband, Gayle Peterson; two children, Jennifer (Jose) Guerra of Portage and Michael McKay of Chesterton; nine grandchildren; Crystal, Jacob, Brandon, Mandy, Taylor, Kenneth Jr., Lacey, Sydni and Dakota; ten great grandchildren, and many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; father, Donald Fife; mother, Patricia (nee Hertaus) Gielow; her son, Kenneth McKay, and her three brothers, Donald Fife, Robert Fife and Harold Gielow.
